Pay: $24–$32/hr DOE + paid travel expenses
Role Description
The Install & Dismantle (I&D) Trade Show Field Supervisor will oversee the setup and installation of trade show exhibits at various venues throughout the U.S., ensuring that displays are assembled efficiently, safely and according to client specifications. You will lead a team of installers, providing guidance, instruction and support throughout the installation process. Attention to detail, strong organizational and problem solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the in-house Client Services team to understand all the required details involved in installing an exhibit to meet our customer satisfaction standards.
• Direct and oversee a team of installers during the setup and installation of trade show exhibits throughout the U.S. with hotel, airfare and per diem paid by Nimlok North.
• Assign tasks, provide guidance and ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and quality standards.
• Verify onsite show services installation such as electrical, rigging, carpet, etc. and rectify any discrepancies with venue supplier and/or Client Service Coordinator.
• Plan and coordinate the set-up schedule, including logistical arrangements such as equipment delivery, booth layout, assembly instructions and re-packing instructions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, exhibitors and venue staff to ensure a smooth installation process.
• Identify and troubleshoot any technical or logistical challenges that arise during the installation process; implement solutions quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain project timelines.
• Ensure client expectations are met throughout the installation process, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and effectively along with resolutions and client communication; report any changes, requests or issues encountered to the assigned Client Services Coordinator.
• Keep detailed records of, and prepare reports on, installation activities, project progress and outcomes, equipment inventory, work hours and any issues or damage encountered for internal and external stakeholders.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment between the installation team and the Client Service Coordinator.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Previous experience in trade show exhibit installation or a related field.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, assembly instructions and floor plans.
• Knowledge of basic carpentry, power tools, electrical and/or audiovisual equipment is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors and team members.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and travel as needed to accommodate project requirements.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
• Be able to lift and carry items, sometimes more than 50 pounds, to set up and dismantle an exhibit.
• Have good manual dexterity to manipulate and use tools and assemble intricate parts accurately.
• Have the physical ability and stamina to work extended hours of continuous activity and be on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Comfort level with working at heights, within a convention center, as needed.
